I am a postdoctoral scholar, with a research interest in the genetics and genomics of improving consumer-focused traits in crops, particularly flavor and nutritional quality. My current research focuses on improving protein digestibility in pulse crops. I received my PhD in plant biology from UC Davis in 2026, where I investigated at-harvest and bioaccessible nutrient levels in common bean. This work utilized robotic stomach chambers to dynamically simulate the digestive process for the release of bioaccessible nutrients from genetically diverse common bean samples grown across California. I completed my BS at UC Davis in 2020, double majoring in Genetics and Food Science. As an undergraduate, I studied the transcriptional regulation of secondary plant metabolites in the Shikimate pathway.
