Rajdeep Bains

I majored in Biological Sciences. Our work centered around evaluating and improving bioaccessible nutrients in common bean. We used peristaltic and gastric simulators, which emulate the dynamic wave-like contractions of the digestive system and other biological processes, to better understand the release of nutrients during digestion from samples of common bean sourced from farms throughout California. My day-to-day affairs involved colorimetric analysis, processing of common bean samples, and preparation of digestion fluids (saliva/gastric juice).
