I am an undergraduate student majoring in Biotechnology, and I am primarily working on capturing the diversity found in lima beans. I genotype lima bean seeds for traits before they are grown in a greenhouse and help maintain those plants as well as other inbred lines. I also use spectral techniques to determine the nutritional content of lima beans. This work helps identify relevant genes and genomic regions and could accelerate breeding for useful traits.
